Mounties are issuing a warning after receiving information that may indicate there is an overly potent batch of synthetic drugs in town

The Kelowna RCMP has learned that there may be a quantity of GHB (Gamma hydroxybutyrate), Crystal Meth (Methamphetamine) and other synthetic drugs circulating in town right now which appears to be extremely potent, and therefore extremely dangerous.

“There is no such thing as a “bad batch” of synthetic drugs, because there is no good batch. Every tablet or dose represents a potentially serious health risk whether that be short term or long term,” said Const. Kris Clark.

“Synthetic drugs are produced in facilities with no quality control or sanitation control. There is no way to know what you are eating when you swallow a tablet. Every person can react differently to the chemicals and there is no guarantee or assurance as to what that reaction might be.”

If you suspect drug activity in your neighbourhood, or have information about the production or sale of drugs, do not investigate. Contact your local police.
