Larry Darling made his first appearance in Port Alberni court today (Sept. 16, 2015) on a charge of first degree murder.
Darling, 51, was arrested Sept. 11 in Surrey, in connection with the 2006 murder of Port Alberni resident Kristy Morrey. He has yet to secure a defence attorney.
He will make his next appearance by video to the Port Alberni courts on Oct. 14.
A no contact order for eight unnamed people was issued and Darling will remain in detention until his court date.
