Author Leslie Davidson, who now resides in Revelstoke but called Grand Forks home for many years, launched her first published book (In the Red Canoe) at the Grand Forks and District Public Library on Thursday evening. There were so many people who turned out for the reading that people left standing in the back had a hard time seeing the author! Davidson also recently received the news that her submission Adaption had won the CBC Literary Prize for Creative Non-Fiction. The writing award includes $6,000 from the Canada Council for the Arts and a 10-day writing residency at the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity. Davidson capped off her Grand Forks weekend by appearing at the library’s Storytime session on Friday, and for a book-signing at Pedaller’s Place on Saturday.
