Quick action kept a fire from engulfing an Armstrong home.
Firefighters were called to the 3400 block of Adair Street Thursday at 3:47 p.m.
“We got there quickly and we’re able to contain it to the back deck,” said Ian Cummings, Armstrong-Spallumcheen fire chief.
“There was no damage to the structure.”
Cummings admits the situation could have been far worse given the current dry conditions.
“Any little flame can become a big issue so it’s key to get a crew on it as quickly as possible,” he said.
The cause of the fire has not been determined.
