Deer shot near homes leads to charges

Hunter charge with three Wildlife Act charge for shooting deer in residential area

Charges have been laid in a deer shooting near Horse Lake.

The deer was illegally shot close to the adjacent homes on Sept. 11, shortly after a verbal exchange between a resident, alarmed at seeing a man shooting from the road, and the hunter who disregarded her protests.

The Conservation Officer Service confirms an individual turned himself in and was subsequently charged with three offences under the Wildlife Act.
