Defective taillight leads to West Kelowna pot bust

Powerful odour gives away pot plant clones after cop pulls over Lexus with broken taillight

A 46-year-old West Kelowna man is facing potential drug possession charges after numerous marihuana clones were seized during a traffic stop Wednesday night.

It was nearing midnight when a Kelowna RCMP officer noticed a a grey Lexus 400 on Highway 97 North near Sexsmith Road with a broken taillight.

The officer pulled the vehicle over and noticed a power odour of marihuana. The driver was arrested and police soon uncovered a three coolers of marijuana plant clones, 1600 plants in all.

A 46-year-old West Kelowna man faces potential charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance. He has since been released on a Promise to Appear for Court in January.
