Katherine Delisle of the Borderline 4-H Lamb Club was honoured with a 25-year leadership certificate at the club’s award night in December.
Delisle has been the head and project leader of the club since shortly after its inception in 1990. Originally formed by Sol Klein and Liz Everson, Delisle joined Borderline that same year and has since been an enormous influence on the club’s youth. With a quarter century of service under her belt, Delisle has, in some families’ cases, taught two generations of sheep lovers, and the members are grateful to have such a dedicated, caring leader.
Delisle was also a long-standing director with the Rock Creek Fair Assocation, and, upon her decision not to run for election to the 2016 board, was presented with a custom-made thankyou card by the executive at the association’s annual general meeting in January. She was also the fall fair’s winner for best lamb carcass at the 2015 Rock Creek fair.
All-in-all, a very successful year for a well-respected, always modest individual.
