RCMP officers continue to make efforts to reunite what they believe to be stolen property with its owners, after seizing several items from two theft from auto suspects arrested in Rutland early Monday morning.
The Kelowna RCMP responded Oct. 24 at 5:39 a.m. to a report of a possible theft from vehicle in progress as an observant citizen witnessed an unknown man with a flash light inside a vehicle parked in the 300 block of Clarissa Road.
“Officers arrived on scene promptly and located two suspects, a man a woman, who were taken into police custody without incident,” said Const. Jesse O’Donaghey, in a press release.
The suspects were found in possession of several items police believe to be stolen from various vehicles parked in the area. RCMP continue their efforts to identify the rightful owners and return the recovered stolen property.
“Residents in the area are being asked to check their vehicles for any signs of entry or theft,” said O’Donaghey.
If you have been the victim of a theft from your vehicle and have not yet reported the incident to police you are asked to contact the Kelowna RCMP at 250-762-3300,” adds O’Donaghey.
The suspects, a 24-year-old Kelowna man and a 29-year-old Kelowna woman, were held in police custody and face potential charges.
