Dinosaurs are proving to be popular.
Large crowds have been flocking to Dinosaurs Unearthed, which opened at the Okanagan Science Centre in March.
“The response has been really great,” said Jim Swingle, executive director, adding that there were 8,000 visitors in March alone.
“Over the summer and with tourists in town, the attendance is picking up. There’s a real steady flow.”
About 20,000 people have passed through the exhibit so far and that number could reach 25,000 by the time it closes Sept. 2.
“There’s still lots of time for people to come and check it out,” said Swingle.
The exhibit has four animatronic dinosaurs, including a Tyrannosaurus Rex, as well as a skeleton and a stationary dinosaur. There are also numerous other displays featuring background information on dinosaurs.
“We’re getting a lot of positive feedback and people are happy we brought it to Vernon,” said Swingle.
Admission is $30 for families, $12 for adults, $9 for youth and children two and under are free. For more information, go to www.okscience.ca.
