District of Kent opens temporary clean air shelters

Shelters offer relief from the poor air quality

The District of Kent is responding to the poor air quality in the area.

To offer short-term respite from the smoky air in Agassiz-Harrison, the district as set up community two clean air shelters in Agassiz for Thursday and Friday (Aug. 12 and 13).

The Agassiz Library (7140 Cheam Avenue) will be open until 6 p.m. on Thursday and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday.

The Community Recreation and Cultural Centre (6660 Pioneer Avenue) will be open until 8 p.m. on Thursday and from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday. The CRCC is also equipped with a water bottle filling station.
