The City of Parksville wants to know your views

The City of Parksville is continuing its active use of social media, asking people to “like” its Facebook page.

The city’s website has been active for years with up-to-date information and they have been posting on Twitter since last summer.

Acting Mayor Chris Burger said the Facebook page will, “provide an easy means for residents to keep up-to-date on city news and also ask questions or share comments on programs and initiatives.”

The city’s website will remain their primary Internet presence, explained communications officer Debbie Tardiff, but they encourage people to “follow” or “like” the city on Facebook and/or Twitter as an easy way to get information and interact with the city.

The idea is to try to reach a broader audience and keep up with the fast-changing world of the Internet and the way residents are already communicating.

The easiest way to connect to the city through the social media is by clicking the logo tabs on the city website at www.parksville.ca.

Facebook and Twitter are free but you need an account to “follow” or “like” the city.
