Following a single vehicle accident on March 23, 100 Mile House Fire-Rescue attended to assist in removing the driver and used specialized equipment to get the driver to the top of the roadway. The male driver was taken to 100 Mile House Hospital for injuries believed to be minor.

100 Mile House RCMP responded to 68 calls for service during the past week. Some highlights are as follows:

 

Vehicle in ditch

On March 25, RCMP were called to a report of a vehicle in the ditch on Hwy. 97 near 108 Mile Ranch. The male driver, and lone occupant of the vehicle, was not injured. Symptoms of alcohol consumption were observed and a roadside breath test was conducted. The driver was issued an immediate roadside prohibition for three days. The vehicle was impounded for three days.

 

Single vehicle collision

On March 23, RCMP were called to a single vehicle collision on Hwy. 97 near Ainsworth Rd. It was determined that the vehicle had abruptly veered to the left and went down an embankment after possibly hitting some loose gravel on the shoulder.

100 Mile House Fire-Rescue attended to assist in removing the driver and used specialized equipment to get the driver to the top of the roadway.

The male driver was taken to 100 Mile House Hospital for injuries believed to be minor.

 

Dog poisoning

On March 23, RCMP received a report of dog poisoning at a residence on Gloinnzun Cr. A resident reported that a family dog became very ill and the dog was taken to the vet to be examined. The dog was treated by the vet who had a strong suspicion that the dog had been poisoned. Contents from the dog’s stomach revealed meat that had not been fed to the dog by its owner.

It is suspected at this time that the tainted meat had likely been thrown over the fence at the residents’ property for the purposes of poisoning the dog. At this time there are no suspects or witnesses and the incident is not believed to be targetted.

 

Theft from vehicles

On March 22, RCMP received a report of theft from two vehicles at a residence on the 5000 block of Watson Lake Rd.

The owner reported nothing taken besides the vehicle manuals. The doors to the vehicles were not locked at the time and there was no damage to the vehicles.

 

Mischief and attempted theft

On March 22, RCMP received a report of mischief and attempted theft at a business on the 5000 block of Tatton Station Rd. Sometime overnight a piece of machinery was entered and someone attempted to take a stereo but was not successful.

 

Fuel theft

On March 21, RCMP received a report of a theft of fuel from a business located on the 7000 block of Watch Lake Rd.

A fence had been damaged to enter the property and fuel removed from a piece of machinery.

 

Break and enter

On March 21, RCMP received a report of a break and enter to a residence on the 3000 block of Emerald Cr. A concerned citizen had observed what was described as a dark green 90’s style suburban parked at a residence.

After the vehicle left, it was determined that the residence had been broken into while the occupants were not home. It is believed based on evidence located at the scene that two persons were involved.

Property taken as a result is still pending.
