Canada Day fireworks in Vernon have received a major boost.
Lake City Casino presented $5,424 to the City of Vernon for the July 1 event.
“It’s a great community event and we are looking forward to more years to come,” said Anita Whitby, with Lake City Casino.
The total budget for the 15-minute fireworks show at the DND grounds is $25,000.
“It’s really great to have their support,” said Terry Schmauder, event chairperson, of Lake City Casino.
