Double shooting in Langley

Two men in their 20s were shot, but managed to take themselves to hospital. Both co-operating with police. Police say it is drug related.

Two men in their 20s were shot near the Tall Timbers area early Saturday morning.

According to the Langley RCMP, just before 5 a.m.,  two men drove to an area near 232 Street and 56 Avenue. The pair met up with an unknown man who produced a firearm.

A struggle ensued and two shots were fired into the vehicle, said police. Both victims were hit by bullets. The driver managed to take both of them to Langley Memorial Hospital.

They have been treated for their injuries. Langley RCMP say the incident appears to a targeted, drug-related incident. Both will be OK and are co-operating with police. Police continue to look for the shooter. Dogs were called out to search for the shooter, but the search didn’t turn up anything.

Over the weekend, Sgt. Ravi Pawar said that this was related to low-level drug culture and the public isn’t in any danger.
