There will be another reason for people to head to downtown Vernon.
On Monday, Vernon council approved the Downtown Vernon Association’s plans for the Avenue Market on portions of 30th Avenue from May 9 to Sept. 26.
The public market will include commercial vendors and merchants along 30th Avenue will be able to use the sidewalk for merchandise displays and sidewalk cafes.
“It will bring people downtown and that’s what makes a downtown is people. It’s part of a positive trend,” said Mayor Rob Sawatzky.
