Work will soon begin on improving drainage on Atherly Close.
District of Sooke council approved an $85,000 contract for Wittich Environmental Services to begin reconstruction of the roadway and drainage system this spring.
A 2015 report found that the existing drainage was undersized and in poor condition.
The Atherly Close drainage replacement project is one of the three major drainage projects planned for 2016. The two remaining projects: the Rhodonite-Eakin Drive and Sooke River Road will be completed within the proposed $240,000 rainwater infrastructure budget.
