Ann Davis Transition Society is set to convert Chances Chilliwack into a drive-thru once again on June 9.
With bags of healthy breakfast items and business coupons at the ready, the public is invited come by on their way to work or school to support the various programs that make a substantial difference in the lives of the most vulnerable children and youth in our community.
The third annual Drive-Thru Breakfast will have over 500 breakfast bags, Starbucks coffee, croissants from Chances, and fruit from Hofstede’s. Bags will also contain an assortment of juice boxes, granola bars, and organic oatmeal.
Breakfast will run from 6:30 to 9:30 a.m. on Thursday at the main entrance of Chances Chilliwack (8180 Young Rd).
Traffic control will be provided by Chilliwack Community Policing, and the Charitable Firefighters Association will be there with Ann Davis staff and volunteers to hand out the breakfast.
“My kids and I have benefited so much from Ann Davis Services,” says an Ann Davis client named Reba. “When no one else would help they provided a roof over our heads to keep me and my three kids safe.”
“Since then we have been able to have family counselling to get through the tough times of change and my two teens are involved with youth programs in the school and one and one counselling with Ann Davis counsellors,” she said.
To support this worthy cause, $10 is minimum suggested donation for a bag breakfast, which are valued at around $25 each.
“We would like to invite the people of our community to be generous and understand that it is an important fundraiser for a wonderful cause and to remember that the donation makes a real difference for the kids that use our services,” said Patti MacAhonic, Executive Director.
Ann Davis is hoping to reach their $10,000 fundraising goal at this event. All donations over $20 are eligible for a charitable tax receipt.
