Driver hits power pole on Eagle Bay Road

A driver suffering serious injuries was taken to Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops following a single-vehicle collision

A driver suffering serious injuries was  taken to Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops following a single-vehicle collision on Saturday, Sept. 26.

First responders were called to the incident at 6:48 p.m., after a vehicle struck a power pole in the 4700 block of Eagle Bay Road. The vehicle sustained significant damage and both airbags deployed.

The male driver, a 51-year-old resident of Lake Country, was the sole occupant. He was found unconscious in the vehicle suffering from head and suspected internal injuries.

The driver was taken to hospital in Salmon Arm where he was stabilized before being transported to Kamloops for treatment of internal injuries.

The Salmon Arm RCMP are continuing their investigation into the crash. Police report alcohol involvement with the accident has not been ruled out at this time.
