According to police, it was a case of hit, run, return and run again.
Early Monday morning, Kelowna RCMP officers responded to a report of white pick-up truck smashing into a power pole on Gordon Drive near Raymer Avenue.
A witness on scene said the truck had significant front end damage as a result of hitting the pole, a crash that knocked out power to the street lights in the area. Power was not, however, knocked out to area traffic lights.
The witness also said the driver, who said he was fine after the crash, fled on foot.
But according to police, the driver then returned to the scene, yelled at the witness and ran off again in the direction of Okanagan College campus.
An RCMP service dog was brought in to help track the driver but he was not located.
Kelowna RCMP say they are are concerned for the driver’s well-being and are asking the driver to contact the RCMP.
