Mini-van flipped over after hitting a dump trunk Tuesday morning in Maple Ridge

A woman in a mini-van was taken to hospital Tuesday morning in Maple Ridge after she hit a dump trunk.

The Dodge Caravan bounced off the truck and rolled onto its side, trapping the woman inside around 8:30 a.m. at the intersection of Dewdney Trunk Road and 203rd Road.

A witness driving behind the dump truck said the dump truck had the right of way as it crossed the intersection travelling south along 203rd St.

He said the minivan, that was going east along Dewdney Trunk Rd. ran a red light and collided with it.

A dog that was travelling in the minivan was rescued by bystanders and taken to a veterinarian clinic.

Injuries are unknown at this time. Ridge Meadows RCMP are investigating the crash.
