Driver loses control of vehicle near Usk Ferry Road outside Terrace, B.C.

Terrace RCMP responded to approximately 37 calls for service from August 2nd, 8 a.m. till August 3rd, 8 a.m.

During the same time period, three people were lodged in Terrace cells – two of these people were lodged for intoxication.

Downtown Terrace

Internal theft at a business. The situation resolved itself.

False business alarm on Lazelle Ave.

BC Ambulance requested police assistance. Checks of an area were done.

Police observed an intoxicated man lying on the ground on Lakelse Ave. The man was arrested.

A brown leather wallet containing various cards and ID was lost at the Safeway Gas Bar.

False business alarm on Park Ave.

False business alarm on Lakelse Ave.

Two shoplifters at Safeway walked out of the store with baskets full of unpaid merchandise.

False business alarm on Lakelse Ave.

Attempt break and enter to a business on Lakelse Ave. A window was smashed and access was gained to the roof but not the inside of the business. Under investigation.

Elsewhere Terrace

Theft from an unlocked Toyota Rav parked on the 4800 block of McConnell Ave. during the night of August 1st/ 2nd. Dark rimmed Smith sunglasses in a case and several charging cords were stolen.

A dog left in a vehicle at Mills Memorial hospital. The vehicle left prior to police attendance.

Assist Cranbrook RCMP with an investigation.

A dog left in a Dodge Ram at the courthouse. The owner was paged and returned to the vehicle to tend to the dog.

Separation issues. Police spoke with the people involved and a resolution was reached.

A motorbike parked at Mills Memorial Hospital was pushed over causing damages and the license plate stolen. Incident occurred over a month ago.

Items were seized during the course of an investigation.

Intoxicated man in George Little Park. Checks determined that the man was breaching an undertaking condition of not to consume alcohol. The 28-year-old man was arrested. He had just been released from jail a couple hours earlier for the same offence. The man is held for court.

A woman peeing on a tree in George Little Park in front of the public. Police located the woman and she was arrested. Alcohol was dumped.

Teens blowing an air horn in a red Honda on Scott Ave. Checks of the area were done.

Assault on the 3600 block of Kalum St. A man suffered minor injuries when he was assaulted by a group. Under investigation.

Theft from vehicle.

Theft from an unlocked vehicle parked on Soucie Ave. sometime during the night of August 1st/2nd.

Assist Lisims Nass Valley RCMP with document service.

A dog left in a gold Dodge Caravan parked on Park Ave.

Theft from a Jeep Patriot parked on Lakelse Ave. last Monday, July 25th. A specialized Leatherman with holes throughout the casing, sunglasses, and a phone jack were stolen.

Domestic dispute under investigation.

Thornhill

Harassment complaint. Police spoke with a woman and advice was given.

An unwanted rifle. Police picked the rifle up from a residence for local destruction.

Two men car shopping on Bobsein Cr./Queensway Dr. Checks of the area were done.

A wallet and passport were stolen from a person’s back pocket on July 30 at George’s Pub.

False business alarm on Queensway Dr.

Rural

Single vehicle rollover at Hwy 16 east/Usk Ferry Rd. A yellow Pontiac lost control, swerved into the oncoming lane of a logging truck, rolled multiple times, and eventually landed in the ditch. The driver suffered minor injuries and had to be extracted from the vehicle by Thornhill Fire Department. He was transported to Mills Memorial Hospital by BC Ambulance. Alcohol is suspected to have been a factor in the cause of the crash.

Kulspai

Suicidal person. The person attended Mills Memorial Hospital to be assessed.
