A not guilty verdict has been delivered in the case of a fatal motor vehicle accident on Highway 6 in 2011.
Terrence Edward Brown was found not guilty on counts of dangerous driving causing death and dangerous driving causing bodily harm in Vernon Supreme Court Friday.
Brown had been driving a truck and trailer unit on April 28, 2011, between Vernon and Nakusp that was involved in a collision with a vehicle with three occupants.
The driver of the vehicle, Randy Duncan of Kamloops, was killed in the crash. Duncan’s passengers – his girlfriend and five-month-old daughter – survived.
The B.C. Supreme Court awarded the daughter more than $561,000 in damages in a lawsuit against Brown and his employer, DCT Chambers Trucking Ltd., in January.
The girlfriend still has a lawsuit pending before the courts.
