A driver was seriously injured after a pickup collided with a semi Wednesday morning on the Trans-Canada Highway.
Police say the incident occurred about 10 kilometres east of Sicamous at 10:46 a.m. An eastboundsemi and a westbound truck collided, and the driver of the truck had to be airlifted from the scene to hospital. The driver of the semi was uninjured.
Cpl. Mike Wasylenki of RCMP Traffic Servcies says slippery road conditions may have been a contributing factor in this incident, with the driver of each vehicle attributing the cause to the other driver.
Police, including a collision analyst, continue to investigate the incident. Anyone who may have witnessed the collision is asked to contact Trans Canada East Traffic Services in Revelstoke at 250-805-2111.
