Police are looking for a pudgy man in his 50s or 60s who they believe was behind the wheel of a silver Chevrolet Cavalier which knocked a 15-year-old boy off his bike in Brookswood.

Cpl. Holly Marks said that at about 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 5 the boy was riding his bicycle on 40 Avenue near 200B Street when he noticed a silver Cavalier had stopped at the stop sign between the Royal Bank and 7-Eleven.

The boy began to cross the street, and a collision occurred when the vehicle moved forward.

The teen was thrown from his bicycle, landing about 10 feet away. He sustained significant injuries including a broken ankle, a suspected fractured elbow, and considerable road rash all over his body.

Marks said that the driver stands about  5’9” and has wispy white hair.

He initially stopped and checked on the cyclist who didn’t realize at first how badly injured he was, and offered to drive the injured cyclist to hospital.

Anyone who can help identify the driver is asked to call Langley RCMP at 604-532-3200.
