TERRACE RCMP responded to approximately 72 calls for service from August 16th, 8 a.m. till August 19th, 8 a.m.
During the same time period, there were 18 people lodged in Terrace Cells – 15 of these people were lodged for public intoxication.
Here are some of the calls responded to:
Loss Prevention Officer of Walmart arrested a 16-year-old shoplifter. Police released him to his parent. Under investigation.
Intoxicated man refusing to leave Tim Horton’s and pushed an employee. Police arrested a 51-year-old man for public intoxication. When police were putting him into the back of the police car, he kicked an officer. This escalated to the man spitting and kicking officers at the detachment. He was lodged without incident.
Police conducted a curfew check on a 29-year-old woman. She was in violation of her condition to not be outside of her residence between specified hours. Charges of breach are being forwarded to Crown Counsel.
Intoxicated man refusing to leave the Northern Motor Inn. He left prior to police attendance. Police determined that the man was on conditions to abstain from the consumption of alcohol. He was located and arrested. Charge of breach of undertaking is being forwarded to Crown Counsel.
Break and enter to a residence on Walsh Ave. A woman returned to the residence and found a man inside attempting to steal various electronic equipment. Moments before this incident was reported, a man attended to the RCMP detachment and turned himself in for breaking into his neighbor’s residence. Norman Hudson, 39, has been charged with unlawful entry into a dwelling house with intent to commit an offence and is remanded for court August 20th.
Domestic assault. A 47-year-old woman was cut with a knife and had a minor injury. An intoxicated 33-year-old man was arrested. Charge of assault with a weapon is being forwarded to Crown Counsel on the man. Charge of assault is also being forwarded on the 47-year-old woman.
Assist Mills Memorial Hospital with an intoxicated patient causing a disturbance. Police arrested a 47-year-old man for public intoxication.
911 call from a residence on Tsunyow St. A group of intoxicated people were watching a scary movie and were freaked out so called 911. Police ensured everyone was safe.
A man assaulting people and freaking out at Mills Memorial Hospital. A 43-year-old man was arrested. An offence was not committed.
A group of intoxicated people arguing and fighting in front of a residence on Soucie Ave. Ongoing issues of noise levels between neighbors. Police spoke with the people involved. Everyone was intoxicated. Police noted a nine-year-old youth crying in the residence amongst the drugs and alcohol. Police spoke with the child and advised Ministry of Children and Families.
Domestic assault. A woman was pushed and struck on the head. A 22-year-old man was arrested for assault. Charges are being forwarded to Crown Counsel. The man is held for court.
A 51-year-old man attended to the detachment wanting to be lodged in cells. Police noted that he was intoxicated and complied with his request.
