A two-trailer dump truckhas crashed on the side of the Lougheed Highway in Mission on Monday morning.
The accident occurred at about 10:30 a.m. just past Stave Lake Street heading towards Hatzic. Traffic in both directions is at a standstill as police investigate. Mission Fire Rescue and BC Ambulance were also on scene.
There are no details about any injuries and the accident appears to have knocked out power in the area.
Kayla Moses, who lives close to the scene, said she heard and felt the accident.
“We were sitting in our backyard and all of a sudden we heard a really, really loud bang and our power lines started shaking like crazy.”
She ran out to the front yard to see what had happened.
“I saw a dump truck crashed out on the side of the road, about 20 feet down the road from my house. It was crazy. Our power went out,” she said.
