A dump truck on Mission’s Nelson Street hit a power line Thursday morning.
Driver Wlodzimierz Grabowski was dumping dirt onto a work site by the Fraser River and forgot to lower the truck body before heading back on the road. The elevated bin caught on a power line on Nelson Street, overturning the truck into a ditch at around 9 a.m.
Grabowski sustained no injuries. He said there was no signal in the truck to alert drivers that the body was still elevated.
Only a few nearby businesses were affected with power outages, which BC Hydro said would be fixed that morning.
