The Early French Immersion lottery system is underway this week in Chilliwack.

Parents who wish their child to enter EFI in Kindergarten or Grade 1 are asked to do so online on the Chilliwack School District website, at www.sd33.bc.ca.

The form is available online now until noon on Friday, Jan. 6. After that, a lottery system will be used in accordance with the district’s selection process priorities. Families will find out within a week where they sit on a list for entrance in September.

Parents of kindergarten students are asked to register their student at their catchment area school, as placement in EFI is not guaranteed.

For those who miss the online deadline, applications can be made at Cheam elementary after Jan. 6.

Registration for Late French Immersion at the Grade Six level is on Jan. 30, between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. online, and in person at Strathcona elementary or Sardis elementary after that date.
