Early-morning fire at Abbotsford apartment building

Blaze breaks out Friday morning on George Ferguson Way

Emergency crews were on the scene of an apartment fire early this morning in Abbotsford.

The fire broke out at about 2:30 a.m. at the Abbotsford Place apartments at 32850 George Ferguson Way.

Initial reports indicate that the fire started in the third-floor lobby, resulting in tenants from the building having to be evacuated.

Nobody was injured in the blaze.

George Ferguson Way between Gladwin Road and Bourquin Crescent West was closed for a period but has since re-opened.
