Fire in an RV early Thursday morning in Abbotsford destroyed that vehicle, as well as damaging three other vehicles and the exterior of two nearby homes.
Abbotsford Fire Rescue Service (AFRS) crews were called just after 3:30 a.m. to the area of Cassiar Court and Cassiar Avenue.
When they arrived, flames were 40 feet in the air and propane bottles were exploding. The fire originated in a large fifth-wheel trailer that was parked on the street and had spread to a nearby fence.
Radiant heat from the fire damaged the siding of two homes, as well as two cars and another fifth-wheel trailer on a nearby property.
Crews quickly brought the blaze under control. Five fire trucks were on the scene, along with BC Ambulance and the Abbotsford Police.
Assistant Fire Chief Dave Rivett said the damage is estimated to be more than $200,000.
The fire is suspicious in nature and is under investigation by AFRS and Abbotsford Police.
