Due to the risks from the spreading Ebola outbreak in Africa, students will now be headed to China instead.

At a meeting last night the students involved in the district’s Me to We Spring Break trip have decided to change the destination to China.

Although they students were eager to go back to Ghana to do more work on the school which was started with the help of School District #83 students two years ago, it was felt that the risks in the area had become too high.

”It’s not about where we go … it’s about what we do to help,” stated the group of students.

In a rural community in China the students will build a school, give English lessons, and come face-to-face with the challenges of development in a vast and struggling country

The Me To We trip is designed to help improve the lives of some of the most poverty-stricken families and learn about themselves and social responsibility at the same time.
