Enderby invests in digital sign

City council has agreed to spend about $18,000 on a digital billboard

Awareness is a sign of the times in Enderby.

City council has agreed to spend about $18,000 on a digital billboard that will likely be installed somewhere along George Street (Highway 97A).

“People want to be more informed about the great events going on in the community,” said Coun. Tundra Baird.

“We have so many amazing programs that may not be maximized and we can create more awareness about them.”

Besides focusing on residents, the goal of the billboard is to pull tourists off the highway.

“They may see a sign about Music on the River and stop,” said Baird.

The sign will be five-feet-by-eight-feet in size and have four lines of text.

A location for the billboard has not been determined yet.
