An entire Grade 11 class at G.W. Graham secondary school has been sent home to isolate after a COVID exposure one week ago.
The school sent out a general notification letter to the entire student body Monday (April 12) saying that someone with COVID was at GWG April 6, 7, 8 and 9.
Students in the chemistry 11 honours class were also sent a self-isolation letter from Fraser Health saying they were “likely exposed to a person confirmed to have COVID-19.”

According to one parent who has a daughter in the class, those students will be shifting to online learning until the end of the current octet.
The self-isolation letter instructs students to remain at home unless urgent medical care is needed, and call the medical centre in advance if they need to go.
The letter says students can be monitored in an outdoor space but shouldn’t play with friends or go to any public areas.
Students are asked to monitor for a list of key symptoms that includes cough, fever or chills, loss of sense of smell or taste and difficulty breathing. Other symptoms may include a sore throat, loss of appetite, extreme fatigue or tiredness, headache, body aches, nausea, vomiting or diarrhea.
