Motorists can expect to see increased activity on the Columbia Avenue project over the next few weeks.
Crews will now be working Saturdays until the project is completed.
Road grading will take place this week between 13th Street and 15th Street.
Road gravel will also be placed this week and the first lift (layer) of asphalt will be going down on Friday.
“As this surface work is being completed there will be increased congestion and additional delays along this section of Columbia,” contractor MarWest said in a news release. “Please use caution, reduce your speed and have patience when entering or exiting the construction zone.”
MarWest is also reminding drivers that school is back in session — adding another level of congestion to the area.
Drivers may want to consider alternate routes during this time.
