Explosion in Silver Creek area

At approximately 2:30 p.m. April 7, Salmon Arm RCMP received a call of a building explosion

At approximately 2:30 p.m. April 7, Salmon Arm RCMP received a call of a building explosion, which had ignited several vehicles and caused a small forest fire.

Investigation determined that a brush fire in the 200 block of Salmon River Road got out of control to include a nearby outbuilding. The building, which housed propane tanks, exploded and two nearby vehicles were engulfed by the flames. No one was injured, though there was significant property damage.
