Fake oxycodone, synthetic cannabinoids, fentanyl found near Agassiz, Seabird Island

Seabird Island Band put out a warning about the drugs

The Seabird Island Band is warning residents to keep their eyes open for signs of overdose, after a number of street drugs were found in the Agassiz and Seabird Island areas.

According to a release from the band, street-available oxycodone tablets, a synthetic cannabinoid and fentanyl were found in the area, or surrounding communities.

These substances are new to the area, the release reads, and are known to be associated with drug overdoses and death.

Some of the counterfeit tablets have the markings “CDN 80,” and the band is asking people to use extreme caution is accessing oxycodone from anywhere other than a pharmacy.

Anyone suspecting an accidental consumption of these drugs, or an overdose of any kind, should call 911 right away.
