A man police describe as “extremely intoxicated” caused some tense moments at a Falkland home Thursday.

A woman inside the home called 911 to report an individual trying to break into the home just after 2 a.m.

A man was banging on windows calling out the name of a person who was not associated with the home.

“It appears the man had the wrong house,” said RCMP spokesperson Gord Molendyk.

The suspect, 18, from Falkland, broke a couple of windows and made it inside the house.

When police arrived, he was found passed out on the kitchen floor.

The suspect was taken to Vernon Jubilee Hospital for treatment of cuts and because of his high level of intoxication.

The matter remains under investigation and evidence has been forwarded to Crown counsel to see if charges will be laid against the individual.

The woman in the home wished to thank the 911 operator for keeping her calm through the ordeal.
