Fernie Alpine Resort (FAR) is now allowing uphill bike traffic on e-mountain bikes and regular mountain bikes via their new specified uphill route.
The new trail gives riders access to quick laps of the Elk-side downhill trails, as well as Lower TNT on the Timber side. Those wanting shorter laps can head off at access point A to ride down Honeybee, Eville, Holo Bike and Phat Larry’s, or embark on a longer pedal to access point B or C, reaching all other downhill trails.
The uphill route will only be open during regular bike park hours. Uphill riders must have a valid uphill e-bike or enduro ticket, a mountain bike season pass, or a day ticket in order to access the bike park trails.
FAR also kicked off Nature Bob’s Hiking Challenge earlier this week. The self guided family friendly event runs throughout August, encouraging participants to explore eight of the resort’s breathtaking hiking trails.
Upon registration, entrants will receive a list of trails to be completed, with corresponding questions to be answered about the hike. With each completed trail, participants receive an entry to win draw prizes, including a $100 gift card to Resorts of the Canadian Rockies.
Each week, FAR will post a separate weekly challenge to their Facebook page, giving participants the opportunity to win an additional Giv’Er Shirt Works voucher.
