A Chevrolet Tracker was involved and had been traveling west on the highway when it lost control, rolling over and ejecting the male driver. The vehicle then landed on top of the driver and the man was only freed after witnesses lifted the vehicle off him.
The driver was transported by ambulance to the Bulkley Valley District Hospital in Smithers where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
Police have not released the identity of the man.
