Trail RCMP were called to the scene of a fatal accident early Monday morning.
Sgt. Darren Oelke says the call of a collision between a motorcycle and small SUV came in at 5:43 a.m.
Police responded and found the 27-year old female motorcycle driver from Fruitvale, deceased at the scene.
The driver of the SUV was not injured.
According to Oelke, the motorcyclist was travelling west (toward Trail) on Highway 3B, the SUV was travelling east and turned left at the AM Ford intersection.
Charges against the SUV driver are unknown at this time, West Kootenay Traffic Services has taken over the investigation and traffic is reduced to single-lane.
The woman’s name is not being released pending notification of kin.
