A three vehicle fatal accident that occurred on Hwy. 95 35 km north of the Village of Radium Hot Springs near the community of Brisco, B.C. at approximately 2:30 p.m. Wednesday January 19, 2011 has caused the death of three males.
A 1996 Oldsmobile driven by a 64-year-old male from the Lower Mainland left a rest area, failing to yield to a southbound logging truck driven by a 59-year-old male from Golden, B.C. The car drove directly into the path of the logging truck, colliding with it. The collision pushed the car into the northbound lane where a 2007 Peterbilt driven by a 48-year-old male from Chilliwack collided with it.
There were two male passengers in the Oldsmobile, a 73-year-old and a 66-year-old both also from the Lower Mainland. The driver and both passengers were killed.
The drivers of the two trucks were unharmed.
As a result of the accident the highway was closed for several hours but is now open.
