Vernon’s Schubert Centre is undergoing some upgrades.
Colin Mayes, Okanagan-Shuswap MP, announced funding Monday for two initiatives at the seniors centre.
“We have a significant number of seniors in Canada and we need to look at the needs of seniors,” said Mayes.
“It’s partnering with people in the community.”
A total of $23,472 will go towards replacing flooring while there is also $24,378 for a refrigeration unit that will allow the Schubert Centre to provide a Meals on Wheels program to Vernon seniors.
