On Monday evening, Fernie Search and Rescue (SAR) was tasked by BC Ambulance to respond to an injured mountain biker on Dem Bones.
Dem Bones is classified as a Blue (intermediate) difficulty trail located in Fernie’s provincial park.
SAR reported today on their Facebook page that the rider had sustained a significant lower leg injury near the top of the trail.
Fernie SAR responded with three SAR techs via helicopter, provided necessary first aid and transported the injured biker to the hangar where he was handed over to BC Ambulance.
