A staffing issue is causing the cancellation of two night-time sailings between Nanaimo and West Vancouver.
A B.C. Ferries service notice advised that the Queen of Surrey won’t sail from Horseshoe Bay at 6:35 p.m. or from Departure Bay at 8:45 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 4.
“Your safety is important to us, and we require a specific number of crew members on board the vessel to ensure the safety of our passengers in the unlikely event of an emergency and to comply with Transport Canada regulations,” the ferry corporation noted.
B.C. Ferries says the Queen of Oak Bay “will perform a replacement sailing,” departing Horseshoe Bay at 8 p.m. and departing Departure Bay at 10 p.m.
The ferry corporation apologized for any inconvenience and asked customers with reservations to check in at the terminals in advance of their scheduled sailing times. For more information, visit www.bcferries.com.
