The Festival of Trees kicked off a weekend full of Christmas spirit at the Historic Park in Fort St. James from Nov. 25 – 27.
Organizer, Jaqueline Soles was thrilled with the all of the community support as about 20 entries were auctioned off the highest bidder.
Community members were eager to catch a glimpse of the many different festive designs as Christmas treats were passed around by students from Fort St. James Secondary School.
“All of the proceeds will support the Fort St. James Secondary School Grade 9 class on their trip to Haida Gwaii, B.C.,” said Soles, a teacher at the school.
Many local businesses and organizations continue to support the students year after year with their creative entries as people made their rounds in hopes of winning their favorite tree.
