Candlelight Parade is a holiday tradition for many

Hundreds of people braved the sub zero temperatures to watch this year’s Candlelight Parade Friday night in downtown Mission.

Dressed from head to toe in as many warm layers as possible, many came prepared with camping chairs and several warm blankets.

For many people, the parade is an annual traditional they participate in to kick off the holiday season. For others, like one-year-old Moira, she is enjoying the event for the first time with her parents, Kelly and Mike.

In addition to the holiday theme, this year’s parade also focused on the upcoming B.C. Winter Games, which will be held in Mission in February. Several floats featured Olympic rings and athletes were sprinkled throughout the parade. The parade is organized by the Mission Regional Chamber of Commerce.
