A fiery crash closed Highway 97A south of Enderby just after 4 p.m. Wednesday.

RCMP say the crash was between a semi truck and a van.

“First indications are that the van burst into flames,” said RCMP spokesperson Gord Molendyk. He also added that early indications are that a child may have been rescued from the vehicle but couldn’t confirm the condition of anyone involved in the accident at the present time.

The accident happened between the drive-in and the Log Barn, and the highway was closed until further notice with traffic being rerouted on Back Enderby Road.
