Fire arms found on Beach Road

Between Apr. 14 and Apr. 20, 2014 Burns Lake RCMP responded to a total of 60 calls for service and lodged six prisoners.

At approximately 6:45 p.m. on Apr. 16, 2014 the Burns Lake RCMP detachment with the assistance of Prince George police dog services executed a criminal code search warrant on Beach Road in Burns Lake, B.C.

Police arrested one adult male from inside a residence. A search of the residence and outbuildings yielded several firearms and a small amount of marijuana. The adult male was transported to Burns Lake detachment and released the next day.

Intoxicated male

At approximately 7:48 p.m. on Apr. 14, 2014 police received a call for service to an area near the Tom Forsythe Arena in relation to an intoxicated male. Police located the intoxicated adult male and arrested him for being drunk in a public place. The male was lodged in cells until sober and released without charges.

Passed out in ditch

At approximately 11:38 p.m. on Apr. 14, 2014 place responded to call of an unresponsive females passed out in a ditch in the 1000 block of upper Lorne Street. BC ambulance was already on scene upon arrival of police where the intoxicated female young person became combative with responders. The young person was arrested for being drunk in a public place, lodged in cells until sober and released to a parent.

Arrested at skate board park

At approximately 4:40 p.m. on Apr. 15, 2014 while on routine patrol police observed an adult male at skate board park. The male was known to be on court imposed conditions not to be at any public park where persons under the age of 16 were. Police investigation further determined the male was drinking alcohol and was intoxicated. Police arrested the male for breach of probation and lodged him in cells until sober. The male was released on court process for court in June.

Male intoxicated at hospital

At approximately 4:37 p.m. on Apr. 16, 2014 police responded to call from the Lakes District Hospital in relation to an intoxicated adult male causing a disturbance in the hospital. Upon arrival police located the highly intoxicated male and arrested him for causing a disturbance. The male was transported to cells and kept unit sober.

Impaired driver

At approximately 5:08 p.m. on Apr. 16, 2014 police received a call of a possible impaired driver on Hwy. 16 east near Tintagel. A witness reported that the male driver had driven his car into the ditch and was stuck. Upon arrival police located an adult male in the driver’s seat attempting to get his car out of the ditch. Police investigation determined that the driver displayed signs of impairment and was arrested for impaired driving. The driver was returned to the detachment and lodged in cells until sober. The driver is facing one count of impaired driving and one count of refusing to provide a breath sample. The driver will appear in Provincial court in Burns Lake in June.

Self harm

At approximately 10:35 a.m. on Apr. 18, 2014 police received a third party report of a 16 year old male threatening self-harm after an argument with his girlfriend near Southbank. Police responded and located the young person who willingly accompanied B.C. ambulance to the Lakes District Hospital to seek medical assistance.

Sexual assault

At approximately Apr. 18, 2014 police received a report of a sexual assault on the Palling reserve. The alleged incident involves an adult male and an adult female. Police continue to investigate this matter.
