Fire at Summerland’s MBC Nursery

No one injured in blaze that happened at MBC Nursery in Summerland on Saturday.

No one was injured in a blaze at MBC Nursery in Summerland on Saturday evening.

George Pugh, assistant fire chief of the Summerland fire department said they received a call at approximately 7:03 p.m. of a structure fire on Logie Road.

“Upon arrival, the trailer here was fully engulfed with flames,” said Pugh. “We had it knocked down in about a half hour to 45 minutes. There was no occupants in the trailer at the time of the incident.”

A trailer, which served as the MBC Nursery office, had extensive damage. A car, camper and greenhouse supplies also were damaged due to the fire.

Pugh said the cause of the fire is undetermined and still under investigation.
