Fire at Whalley strip mall

It took crews less than an hour to knock down the blaze, the cause of which is still being investigated.

A Whalley strip mall caught fire on the weekend, causing extensive damage to several businesses.

At about 10:30 p.m. Sunday, Surrey fire crews were called to a blaze at 10619 King George Boulevard. The four trucks that arrived saw how quickly it was spreading and called for a couple more trucks.

By the time the second crews arrived, the first attending had the blaze knocked down.

No one was hurt in the fire.

Investigators are still trying to determine the cause of the fire.
